If you’re looking for a day in Houston that checks every box—great food, chill vibes, skyline views, and a strong dose of local character—East Downtown, a.k.a. EaDo, is where it’s at. This neighborhood has evolved into one of Houston’s most dynamic cultural hubs, and we’ve put together the perfect day-long itinerary for you to explore it all. Whether you're planning a weekend adventure or scouting ideas for next June’s FIFA festivities (yes, EaDo will be right in the middle of the action), this guide has you covered!

Start your day at Koffeteria, a standout bakery and James Beard semifinalist that takes fusion pastries to the next level. This isn’t your average croissant shop—think Mango Sticky Rice Danishes, Viet-Cajun meat pies, and Pistachio Baklava Croissants (our fav). Everything here is inventive, flaky, and picturesque. We highly recommend this being your first stop, especially since they tend to sell out of popular items by noon!

When lunch rolls around, head over to Rodeo Goat Burger. This iconic Texas-born burger joint is casual, but serves some of the best burgers in town. They offer creative burgers—each one a hefty, flavor-packed masterpiece. It’s a great spot to kick back, watch a game, and worth the calories.

Craving carbs and cocktails? Tiny Champions makes the best scratch-made pizzas and pasta dishes. Stop by for their happy hour, Monday through Thursday from 5–6 pm, where you can snag $6 cocktails and half-off pizzas. It's the perfect pre-sunset stop.

Wrap up your day at Sunset Houston, a rooftop lounge offering sweeping views of the downtown skyline. They’ve got great cocktails, live DJs, and often host local music acts– the perfect end to a busy day.

From sunrise pastries to skyline cocktails, EaDo has everything you need for a full, satisfying day in Houston. Save this itinerary for your next outing—or for next summer, when FIFA takes over the neighborhood!
