Ever sat through a high school production of Romeo and Juliet and thought, “This would be better with tequila”? Then Drunk Shakespeare is calling your name! This wildly unpredictable, R-rated theater experience has landed in Houston, and it’s the perfect way to shake things up. One actor takes five shots before curtain call, and then still attempts to perform a Shakespearean play. The rest of the (sober) cast scrambles to keep the story on track, but as you’d imagine, it never quite stays that way.

We went in expecting chaos, and Drunk Shakespeare overdelivered in the best way. The show blends original dialogue with clever modern twists, pop culture jabs, improv, and audience interaction. One moment you’re watching a Romeo monologue, the next you’re hearing a Cardi B reference or watching someone duel with pool noodles. It’s fast-paced, ridiculous, and a good laugh.

The entire experience feels like a party! You’re greeted with a complimentary welcome shot, which immediately sets the vibe.
