Hui Lau Shan celebrated its two-year anniversary in Houston, and we can’t help but feel a little sentimental. This mango-centric dessert shop has not only saved us from the Texas heat more times than we can count, but it's also introduced us to some of the most unique and craveable treats we've ever had!

We recently got a peek behind the scenes, and seeing the care they put into every order made us love it even more. They blend fresh fruit on the spot every single day, and you can taste that in every bite and sip.

Hui Lau Shan is all about fruit-forward desserts, especially mango, and we’ve learned to trust anything they serve. The first time we tried their Mango Chewy Ball, we were hooked. It's refreshing, not too sweet, and the perfect mix of textures. When we’re in the mood for something lighter, the Aloe & Aloe Jelly in Watermelon Juice hits the spot with its clean, fresh flavor. We’ve also fallen for their Coconut Jelly with either Mango or Watermelon, which feels like summer in a cup. And we’re not shy about ordering a side of Mango Mochi—those have become regulars in our rotation.

Lately, we’ve been really into the new additions on their menu. They just rolled out a bubble egg waffle that comes topped with mango ice cream, crystal boba, and fresh mango, and it’s everything we didn’t know we needed. The warm, airy waffle paired with cold ice cream and juicy fruit? It's a whole experience. On the other end of the spectrum, the new black sesame porridge is cozy and comforting, perfect for when we want something less fruity.

Celebrating two years in Houston is a big deal, and Hui Lau Shan has truly earned its place in our rotation of go-to spots. It’s been fun watching them grow and evolve, and even more fun tasting our way through their creative, fruit-packed menu. Here’s to many more years of mango magic!
