We’ve been longtime fans of Chef Aaron Bludorn’s restaurants, so when we heard about his newest concept, Perseid, we couldn’t get there fast enough! Tucked inside the stunning Hotel Saint Augustine in Montrose, Perseid feels like a natural extension of everything we love about Bludorn’s approach—refined, thoughtful, and beautiful. The space is gorgeous, reminiscent of Beauty and the Beast’s stunning dining room. And the food? As expected, absolutely top-notch!

Perseid is an all-day bistro with a menu rooted in Gulf Coast flavors, offering everything from breakfast and brunch to lunch and dinner. It works for just about any occasion– a quick weekday bite, weekend brunch, or a dinner date to impress. After we heard about their $35 three-course prix fixe lunch, we couldn’t resist! For the quality, the experience, and the setting, it’s one of the best deals we’ve come across in the city.

The prix fixe menu lets you choose an appetizer, entrée, and dessert, and while it rotates seasonally, every plate we tried felt like it was crafted with intention. We had a fish with perfectly seared skin, a roasted chicken that was tender and packed with flavor, and a chocolate cake that honestly left us speechless. It was insanely decadent, and a stunner on served on a deep blue plate.

And with its location right next to the Menil Collection, it’s easy to turn lunch at Perseid into a full Montrose day! Grab a table, enjoy a beautifully plated meal, then take a stroll through one of the most iconic museums in Houston. We’re already planning a dinner.
